Cannot access Nintendo eShop.

Hello all,

 

After updating my Nintendo 3DS through its usual prompt, I somehow cannot access the Nintendo eShop anymore. The "loading screen" keeps on going for a while before telling me there's an error, then closing the app and telling me to restart my system before trying to open it again. I've tried doing so multiple times with no result, before going to the system settings and trying to manually update my system. It acts as if an update is available, start some kind of download ... and then, an error again. It restarts my 3DS at that point.

 

I've waited for over a day to see if the problem would fix itself, but nothing changed yet and I'm growing worried.

 

 

 

Nintendo eShop message:

Error Code: 005-4040

An error has occured.

Please tru again later.

 

For help, visit support.nintendo.com.

 

On the site, this error code says this:

Error Code: 005-4040

The Nintendo eShop is currently unavaialble. Please try again later.

For the most up-to-date information on maintenance and service statuses, please visit http://support.nintendo.com/networkstatus.

 

Going there tells me that all online services are available.

(Also, there is a typo in the message. "unavaialble")

 

 

System Update message:

No Error Code

An error has occured.

Unable to update.

 

The system will now be restarted.

 

 

Edit: Pressed Enter by mistake. Oops!

 

Edit 2: Yes, I have tried to fix this by changing the DNS(?) as mentioned on the website. It didn't do anything.
