LCD Screen

I recently purchased a 3DS... I was simply wondering if using rubbing alcohol, as a cleaner could cause damage to the LCD screen of the system? I placed some in the cap, than used a Q-Tip dipped in the rubbing alcohol, and cleaned up the noticeable areas, than I got a lint free cloth, dabbed it in some rubbing alcohol, than gently cleaned the screen.

This left some marks on the screen, like water marks or something, so I used some actual LCD cleaning liquid, and it worked perfectly, made my screen like new.

So I was simply wondering if using 50/50 rubbing alcohol as a cleaner for an LCD screen could cause damage now, or in the future. Thank you in advance for answering my questions, I greatly appreciate it.

Also I was wondering if getting rubbing alcohol in contact with the spaker holes will cause damage? I know this is probably not really a technical problem, but I do think it is a general concern, and a good guide on what cleaners to use to keep your system nice and shiney. If this is considered to not be a technical problem, than I do apologize. Thanks guys.
