Wanna start off by saying my 3ds not charging normally isn't an uncommon issue, it's happened a lot of times before. But never like this.
I was playing Alpha Sapphire this morning, I've just restarted it for the 3rd time to play through it again. When suddenly it abruptly turned off, blue power light and all, no warning. Confused, I went to charge it, but nothing happened, and it wouldn't power on. My 3ds sometimes refuses to charge from any charger. Usually I just have to wait a day and it decides to correct itself. But this is the first time I've seen it do something like this, and I've never heard or seen this problem before. Here's a video of it: https://vid.me/YFLc
As you can see it refuses to turn on, and even upon unplugging it from the charger the charging light is still on. Removing the battery makes the light turn off, but it turns right back on again when I put it back in. I'm so confused, what do I do? Should I send it in for repair, or would it be more optimal to just ask for a new 3DS for christmas? 
Is there a known fix for this? I really don't want to wait over a month to be able to play on it again...
UPDATE: When I was writing this, the light turned off with the battery still inside. But the same problems still persist. Not charging, and not turning on.
