I have a 3DS XL and recently upgraded to a 32GB SD Card. I transferred all the data from my previous (4GB) SD card by dropping it onto my computer, then moving it from my computer to the new (32GB) SD card. At first, everything looked fine; my digital download of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" was still there and looking fine, all the icons on the home screen were accounted for, the background was blue the way I like it, etc. The problem started, however, when I started up "Streetpass Mii Plaza." There was a loading screen, then I get the following error message:
"Error Code: 009-4072
An error has occured.
-The SD Card may not be inserted or was inserted during use of the system. Please turn off the power, and then insert the SD Card and try again.
-Please check that the SD Card is not write-protected."

I tapped "OK" and it continued on to the Mii Plaza. Everything looked normal, but I was missing the streetpass games I purchased, and only had the two that came with the 3DS: "Puzzle Swap" and "Find Mii I & II." "Mii Force," "Flower Town," "Warrior's Way," and "Monster Manor" are all missing, yet in the Mii Plaza Settings menu, I have the option of clearing data from those games.
The Nintendo support error code look-up interprets 009-4072 as a problem connecting to the internet. I submitted a ticket online to Nintendo Support...

...but havn't gotten a reponse yet. I called customer support, and they weren't able to find the error code or help me fix the problem.
Unfortunately, I didnt back up my data after the first transfer, but I've backed it up on my computer since. What I've found is that an empty SD card (the 4GB or the 32GB; doesn't matter) doesn't encounter the error, but EITHER SD card with the data on it encounters the error. Nothing else seems to be affected other than "Streetpass Mii Plaza." I'm starting to think I'm just going to have to wipe everythign and start from scratch, but I've been playing a lot of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" and that would just be a major bummer. ![]()
