So,  I bought a new 3DS XL yesterday but it seems to already be having some problems. The system update starts to load, get 1/4 loaded, then has an error but it doesn't give me a code so I have no idea what to do. Last night it gave me error code 005-4270 which came up under eShop not available or whatever but it's not giving me any error codes today. The internet is working fine, I've tried resetting the access point, I've deleted the connection settings on the DS and re-entered them. I can connect to the eShop without an issue on my original 3DS but not on the 3DS XL because it wants to do the system update first but obviously is having issues with that. I even formatted the DS and started from the beginning. I'm at a loss and rather frustrated.

Just tried to update on bf's new one as well and it gave error code 005-4270. So...?

My Streetpass has an issue where when I start it up it says "Could not access SD Card during the last attempt to use Spotpass. Please check that the SD Card is not full or write-protected." It then proceeds to streetpass normally, however my Puzzleswap game is brought back to where my latest puzzle completed is New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Though I do know that there are newer puzzles because I completed them before this problem began the last one was Pokemon Y. I have tried everything, I turn off spotpass in the options of Mii Plaza and restart the game and it works FINE but after that it returns to being messed up again. I don't have my SD card in the "Lock" position I've already been through the troubleshooting for that and I have plenty of space left on my SD card approximately 197K blocks. I even deleted all of the Mii Plaza's data and redownloaded the updates and my additional streetpass games. If anyone could help me with this problem I'd appreciate it so much, I just want to collect Puzzleswap pieces again.

I when to a Nintendo Zone today, a McDonalds, to get the special Mii of Mr.Eguchi. I recieved a notification on the home menu that I received the special Mii. I open up Mii Plaza and I get this message. "Could not access SD Card during the last attempt to use SpotPass. Please check that the SD Card is not full or write-protected." My SD card is neither full or write-protected. This is the original 2G SD Card that came with my 3DS. So I access the Plaza Gate and I am able to "tag" the other Mii's but not the special Mr. Eguchi Mii. I am also having issue with Puzzle Swap. I can view my collection. I can not swap puzzles with other Mii's from StreetPass and SpotPass or use game coins to purchase pieces. This is right after my last issue with trying to access the eShop and my SD card was said to be corrupted but then it seemed fine after I restarted my Data Management on the 3DS.

i have a new 3ds and iv ben abile to play ds games on it but this 1 mario and luigi partners in time wont play so i tryed it on my ds and it plays there so y wont it wort on the 3ds?

My first 3DS was part of the game ambassadors program, so I have special Virtual Console games downloaded to it.  In June of 2013 I got the special edition Animal Crossing 3DSXL and have been playing it since then.  I was bummed out I couldn't play my old games on my new one and just finally looked into it- and the system transfer does exist!

BUT- I haven't found anything about Animal Crossing data and Streetpass Mii Plaza.  I only have those things on my new 3DSXL.  I want to use the bigger SD card in my 3DSXL.

So how do I do this?  If I follow the transfer documents on the Nintendo site, and where it says "Do Not Delete" will that keep my Animal Crossing Town? And my Streetpass Mii Plaza?  (  http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/227 step 20 )

And then from there I follow the instructions on transferring the old SD card info onto my new SD card through the computer?

I hope this makes sense, I just want to consolidate my systems and keep my Animal Crossing town!!! The town is the most important, if it could be jeopardized I won't do the transfer... any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

The error #011-3108 comes up saying that "the software that corresponds to the code you entered is not currently being distributed."

The game is already launched, and GameStop that I purchased from says that the code should be correct.

My 3DS sound will not play some songs. I have 3 songs in 3DS sound which were from my sd card and they are all in .mp4 format. Only one of them will play and it is 49 seconds long. The other two are more than one minute long and they won't play. Please help.

     I'm going to Vietnam soon, and the temperatures there is anywhere from 100 to 110 degrees fahrenheit. I really want to take my 3DS but I'm scared the heat will damage it. Will it? If so, what are some damages the hot temperature will do to the 3DS? But should I just take my 3DS anyways, because I'd be bored as heck on the long plane ride.

Hello, It's been awhile since I posted anything on a Nintendo board, glad to see the options have grown.

Going to go right into my issue now, I bought a 3DS XL at walmart a few weeks ago. The unit worked fine for a few weeks, I just had it on my desk and on my printer to charge it, nothing happened to the screen. One day after work I opened the 3DS XL and the touch screen stopped working in Pokemon White 2 so I went to the home screen to see if was a software glitch. While on the home screen I noticed that I could only press A, the circle pad d-pad and other face buttons did not work, on the game I option and go into a game where the face buttons and movement controls worked fine but the touch screen did not work on any game.

I called Ninteno after waking up and set up a repair, sent the unit out with Pokemon White 2 in it. It was repaired and set back.

After getting the 3DS XL back I removed the touch screen protector and loaded the start menu... to my dismay the touch screen started moving all the way to the right on it's own so I had to fight back to play a game. While fighting back to the left the system started creating folders on blank squares on its own. Started playing Pokemon W2 again and wanted to set up wifi settings... my DSi connection didn't work with the same password as the 3DS connection (strange Pokemon Black worked without a DSi connection). While trying to set up a wifi connection I noticed that the lower left corner of the touch screen was registering a tap without any interaction. In the meantime the all the way to the right on the touch screen stopped. I noticed some dry glue or something on the right side where the screen was moving to and it seemed to have gotten rid of that issue.

Since this lower left corner issue started while trying to set up wifi the system is currently stuck on Settings... I can open it and it will close again, when I go in the close is selected since its on the lower left side... I can touch around the screen in other locations and the close area unhighlights but I cannot go into any settings... if I try to stop fighting the issue the Settings menu closes and then the console spins thorugh the system instruction manual, just openeing and closing.

I have attempted to calibrate the touch screen by holding l r x during boot up, the buttons work there like when I sent it in. I can tap the calibration dots in that mode but the consol doesn't respond. I can tap an area roughly 2mm diagnally from the lower left corner of the screen and the dot moves, anywhere else it doesn't move, I have also noticed that randomly the calibration point will continiously move on it's own.

I'm wondering if there is a way I can fix this issue myself, since it's the same issue I had when I sent the unit in orginally and they don't send engineering notes. or is it something I could request a replacement for since the first repair returned the system with the same issue?

Bear in mind, I've had a DS lite that I bought a year after it came out and it works just fine and I take better care of the 3DS XL then I actively do the DS lite...

If you can't tell, there's a glitch going on that allows for   QUADRUPLING the range of attacks, at the very least. Magnus Club has a   maximum attack range of 14 meters, and yet the screen shot shows that it   had fired a 66.5 meter shot. The topic creator says that Shot Range+   and powers were not used. I have no reason to believe he's lying or   using hacks given the nature of the discussion before I jumped in   pointing out that Shot Range+ is already broken enough--the second most   broken thing in the game, in fact, trailing behind only Evasion+ and  its  infinite invincibility frames during dasharound spam in fact--and  it  doesn't even DOUBLE the range of attacks, let alone quadruple it.

Let  me provide a few examples of why Shot Range+ is  broken enough that the  glitch, which makes that look tame in comparison,  is going to  completely ruin multiplayer, online AND offline, if left  unchecked:

*Low  max range weapons such as Viridi Palm are meant to be such  because  they're dangerous enough close up. Shot Range+ ruins that. It  even gets  to the point where the game itself prevents the Magnus Club  from  having Shot Range+ via fusion or random drops.

*Weapons such as  Capricorn Club have low discance damage  multipliers to prevent them  from just running from the opponent like a  wuss and killing them as  fast. Shot Range+ lets them deal the same  damage over further ranges.

*Certain  weapons such as Eyetrack Orbitars can do something  called looping,  where the attack will continually home in on the target  in a loop.  Looping by itself is fine as a way to allow for rewarding  close range  combat, but with Shot Range+, the ability to do looping is  vastly  increased to being so strong at mid-range.

These are all  nightmarish enough with Shot Range+ providing only 60% extra range, not  about 375%.  It means that getting anywhere near enough for threatening  with the  Interference+Black Hole combination with decent consistency is   pointless, and generally results in being killed way too fast to care   that a second charge of Slip Shot being used will conclusively prove   that powers like Super Speed, Virus, Mega Laser, etc. aren't on the   opponent's setup. Imagine how bad the glitch's abuse would be if allowed  to spread like wildfire. It needs to be nipped in the bud.

Hi. I am freaking out right now so its a bit hard to type.... I am going ot try to explain myself to the best of my ability. 

First off,when I first got the 3DS & decided to get a digital download of Pokemon Y, I ended up needing an SD card.  I had (not sure if it came with the systme or what but) a 2 GB SD card.  
Over time, I had added updates, patches and another app and needed a second card.  Yanked one out of my camera before getting a 2 pack of 16 gb cards.  Ok - so between the 4 of those i have or had or should have some data on each.

Today, I played Pokemon X which I own as a hard copy game. Normally I play Y, and I use the Pokemon Bank apps.
I have 701 POKEMON ON THERE!! SEVEN HUNDRED ONE.  Between the bank and the actual game.  Today I got this message :

"the saved data is not compatible iwth this version, so it cant be used.  Refer to the electornics manual for details"   (argh I am so upset I cant type)

This occurred after downloading the patch for X, which as i mentioned, I dont really play & did not have much on it.  But it DID have a shiny & some cool stuff!  For God's sake.  I have spent hundreds & hundreds of hours on these things. .. Pokemon transferred from old, old games, etc.

Sigh.  Breathe... I  I know that when I save, I do that thing where it uploads some info to.... I cant think right now but that online ....service.  I dont know WHAT  it savees there & if that would help me, but I also dont know why the heck I cannot access my copy of Y when all that i did was update X!! What the heck?? Same with the bank.

Everything was on there - games & games full of Pokemon.  Surely they cant be gone!  Tried to call Nintendo, closed....asked on some forums for help, nobody really knows, just a bunch of punk kids LOL.... OMG.

I made a nintendo id with an old email address that had gotten deleted since i never go on it. I cant log in to retrieve the confirmation code. Since i cant log in to my email i cant log in to my nintendo id and change the email thats tied to the id. I also forgot the password for the ID but i remember it wouldnt work anyway unless i got a FRICKEN confirmation code. And i am not formating my 3ds to make a new id help!!!!!

I bought an OG 3DS about a month ago, and linked it with the same Nintendo Network ID that is on my Wii U. I ended up returning it because it was just a bit too small for my hands. I performed a system format (which should have unlinked the ID?) before returning it. I just got a 2DS (much better fit for my hands), and when I try and link my Nintendo ID, it says it's already linked with another 3DS. Am I screwed? I plan on calling Nintendo support at lunch, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue and any potential fixes?  I haven't bought anything with the ID, but I want to have my funds linked as well as Miiverse integration with my Wii U...help!

Today I tried to play Pokémon SoulSilver on my 3DS XL and it would not play. It registers the cartridge, but upon opening, I get a black screen for 3 seconds or so, then an indefinite white screen. The game works fine on two seperate DS Lites and a DSi, but I am unable to test it on another 3DS. It is a legitimate version, unless Toys Я Us sells fakes (probably not). Other Generation IV games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold) work fine, so I think that the issue may be the cartridge, but I'm not sure and I would like some guidance on how the issue can be resolved. Hello, my name is Conner. Yes, my name is Conner, and I am not aloud to name my trainer that name in Pokemon X and Y. I have used that as my trainer name since I was five years old, and its very disheartening not to be able to continue. So what do I name my character now? Will I be able to transfer my Pokemon from old games with this name? Why can't my name just become ??? like with Miis?

Towards the end of April, I was playing Pokemon Black 2 on my 3DS. I closed the lid one night and let it sleep. Over the course of the night the battery died. I woke up the next morning and tried to turn it on. It turned on for a little but then died again because it didn't have enough juice. I plugged in the charger to let it charge, but it never fully came on again. When I turn it on, both of the backlights come on, the power light comes on, the charging light comes on, and the wifi light will come on. The 3D slider light does not. If I hold the power button, but screens turn on and the 3D light and displays the regualr "In Sleep Mode, the system can..." message. From this screen I can power off fully, but when I try to go to the Home screen, it lags indefinitely.

With my 3DS in this state I've been looking for solution, I found out about the system update screen where you turn the system on holding L, R, A and up. This worked fine, both of my screens turned on and I could update, if there was an update to update. I've waited months for the update that came out a few days ago hoping that this would fix my problem. It did not. I contacted NIntendo about this problem and they didn't know what to do with it either, finally teling me to send it in for 100 bucks to fix it.

My 3DS is a launch day Black 3DS with ambassador games and everything. Every 3DS with this specific problem I've read up on so far have been 3DS from that window with ambassador games and all which leads me to believe that it might have been a defect with that specific batch of 3DS's. I made this thread to see if anyone else had the same 3DS as me that has this problem and if ANYONE has found a fix for it yet that doesn't involve me giving Nintendo 100 more dollars after the 250 bucks I paid for it at launch. what happens if my 3ds breaks and i have to get a new one, can i recover ALL my save data, VC and other data? can i use the same SD card with the data on it, re-download the games (like VC, 3DSWare and DSiWare) or completely start fresh (which i do NOT want to do)?

i have hundreds of dollars worth of VC games (i have EVERY NES VC games released) and i DO NOT want to purchase them all again. i've heard rumors on the internet that if i get a new 3DS and put the old SD card into it, the 3DS will wipe out what was on the SD card because they say the new 3ds is not verified to use the old SD card (what they mean is it has whole different settings and a user. even though you put your same name back in). so that's why i am asking because i want to be prepared if my 3ds breaks and i cannot do a transfer.

BTW - since i am talking about a 3ds breaking and getting a new one, what about my friends and how can i keep my same FC even though each 3ds has a different FC for each console?

My system just randomly decided to shine the green light for no reason. I haven't dropped it or anything, the light just randomly goes on and off with no actual streetpass occuring. It also stays on whether the system is in sleep or not. If I turn it off then turn it back on, the light just comes back. Its been doing this for about a day. If anyone can help with this issue I would appreciate it.
