Hi. I've been having an issue connecting online to play matches; as error 018-0201 shows up before even reaching the character select screen for both For Glory and For Fun matches.
Things of note:
- I can spectate and download replays with no problems.
- My router is in the same room I'm always staying in. There are also no wireless devices; so I followed what Nintendo mentioned regarding that error. No dice.

Okay. I've been losing more and more passwords lately. One was to my 3ds nintendo network ID. I cant log in. I tried logging into it only to realize that tI coouldnt remember the password. So I had it emailed to later find out it wasnt hooked up to my new email. It was hooked up to an email I couldnt remember. So I have an account that I cant log into. And a 3ds I cant do anything on. Is there any way to fix this?
I have owned a 3ds xl for almost 3 years now, but somehow after very good care my 3ds xl began to accumulate scratches on most of the outside covering. This is not just me that has this, but many people around the world has this problem. My biggest question is why did nintendo not think about durability and life span? This impacts hard on people with limited editions, luckily I have the original blue because I bought it right when it came out. The original 3ds had no problem until "bigger the better" became "bigger the worst". I really want a repair of a toughen up. The only problem is that my 3ds xl is out of warranty and club nintendo won't "approve" it for an extension. I really want a change in this soon. One more thing, almost everyone that took care of it to the highest always has a mark visible to light or either.
I'm having serious lag issues in all parts of online play (For Fun, For Glory, With Friends), and even just being in the network will disconnect me for no reason, let alone playing a match. Here's my speedtest if anyone's wondering.

Hi, My 3ds has been stolen and I would like to unlink my account of nintendo network and link it in another nintendo 3ds.
I've been using my 3DS for a while, and recently I'm having issues with the B button. I usually have to hold it down or push much harder than I need to for my other buttons, to the point that it's interfering with playing games on the device. Everything else works fine. Does anyone happen to know what's the issue is, and also how to resolve it?
P.S. The B button is sunken in quite a bit (sticks out about half as much as the other buttons). Didn't mention above because it's been like that for quite a while (but with no performance issues)
I've recently purchased a 32 GB micro SDHC card to replace the default 2 GB one in my 3DS, so that I can have more room to download games. I copied all of the original contents of the default SD card onto my desktop (my OS is Windows 7, by the way), and then put in my new SD card, formatted it, and copied everything onto that. I put it into my 3DS, and it worked. Everything was fine, I could redownload Fire Emblem Awakening and I bought Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. Everything worked perfectly until I closed one of either of those games... Then it displayed "Please Wait," restarted the 3DS, and all of my save data for those games went missing. What I find weird is that all of my other games, such as VVVVVV and all of the ambassador program titles still have the save files intact (maybe because it's saved on the system instead of the SD card?). Whatever it is, the system still restarts and the games are still there, corrupted.
Additionally, I cannot download the update data for Streetpass Mii Plaza... It gives me error code 009-8401, meaning that I cannot connect to an access point. Strange, because I could use the 3DS browser and eShop without any issues.
Either way, this is givin' me the spoops and I would greatly appreciate any help or guidance from people. Thanks for your time.

nope...an error has occurred, unable to update, system will now restart.

Hey so I'm in a college dorm.. what are the range of ports I need opened for the firewall to play super smash bros, pokemon, mario kart, animal crossing, etc? I contacted nintendo, but they don't have the port numbers.. on the site it says to open all the ports, but my college won't allow that for security reason.. so what ports should I tell my IT guys to open to play these games online. Or at least just smash bros for now. Please help, Any advice is welcome. No I don't have access to the router. That's the college's control. I had similar issues with my ps4 games but Sony told me the ports I needed to open, and IT helped me out.
In SSB3DS, any type of game I try to play online I get the above error code. The error message on nintendos sport page says to make sure I'm connected to my router.. it's right next to me and my signal is really strong. Not sure if it has to do with port forwarding/nat issues (I have tho issues here at college in the dorms with my ps4) or if it is something on nintendos end. Any help?
I have noticed that recently the 3D effect on my 3DS XL is very low compared to other 3DS XL's I have tried. The slider is on full here. Anything I can do?

I bought your "official Nintendo rainbow stylus" pack today because my stylus was getting loose in the holster on my 3DS XL...
I get home and I'm so excited to play the Theatrythm: Curtain Call with my new stylus that I bring it with me to take a dump. I open it up and choose the green one, because it matches the street pass tag light and I think it looks pretty gosh darn fancy in my hand too. So I start playing and everything is going smooth, the cable I'm laying is mean but it's one of those dumps that leaves you in a blissful stupor after the initial release. Then I notice its starting to feel like I'm playing on sandpaper and I'm no longer able to perfect chain ultimate scores like the badass I am. I sigh in defeat with the new stylus being lame, switch back to my old one and restart the song... Sandpaper again... What the..? I glanced down at my touch screen in horror.. The stupid stylus didnt just scratch it.. it dug trenches so deep I could've buried a dead horse them.. I was also able to shred a peanut butter lid and pringles lid for a video I sent to my girlfriend after.. Seriously Nintendo why the fudge do you sell styluses that can shred hard plastic with barely any pressure..
I have spent 70 flippin' hours on this game and probably 40 on the original while using my old stylus.. not ONCE did I leave a scratch on my touchscreen. I Was/am obviously pretty cross so I wiped/washed, marched straight to my computer and looked up Nintendo's support line. Nintendo has been incredibly awesome to me in the past so I figured if anyone would help me out here, it was my childhood hero, Nintendo.

"Uhh.. Walmart why?" I said confused

Oh.. she clearly must think its a third party stylus.. I'll just clarify it's an official Nintendo stylus made for the 3ds model I own and then she will totally help me out!.. right?

Apparently Walmart (ready for this?) has their very own Nintendo factory where they make, package and sell it all on their own! So Nintendo products sold in Walmart are not Nintendo's problem.. they are in fact Walmart's and I should contact the Walmart repair team to fix my 3DS for me!

A) Paying $120 for a full system repair which will also erase all of my streetpass data
or
B) Dealing with it (I mean I'm not generally an entitled crybaby, so this option would be pretty reasonable if I didn't love my 3DS so much and expect so much more from Nintendo..)
I don't really know what to say at this point.. As someone who has worked a lot of retail/customer service jobs, I know yelling and expressing my frustration will get me nowhere and it isn't like this girl personally wrecked my 3DS, so I just sit in silence until she says..

Recently I've dropped my 3ds it's happened before so I thought it will work but when I turned it on nothing happens the backlight goes on but the top screen doesn't show I've tried other people's solutions but to no avail, can anyone help?

Are themes able to be system transferred? I'm getting a 3DS XL this Friday and I want to purchase a theme for my current 3DS, but want the same one on my 3DS XL without buying it again.
I have had my Nintendo 3DS for a long time, like 2 years. Just now, I've noticed that the d-pad has trouble responding to button presses. While playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf, I noticed that spamming the left d-pad button does not respond to normal pressure, but I have to use a bit more pressure on the left compared to the up, right and down buttons.
The new update killed my ability to use the nintendo zone. I have 2 3ds xl. One updated last night. I went to a McDonalds and the non updated one streetpassed and the nintendo zone icon said I was in the zone. The update one said I was and when I had it search it said "Nope no nintendo zone here" even though my other one and my daughters ds both said yes the is a zone here. So I updated my other 3ds xl and as soon as it restarted it could not log into the zone and said there wasn't on available, but my daughters 3ds, which has not updated, said the zone was still there and she could log in.
So how do I fix this and is there anyway to get rid of the update? We live in a very small town and the McDonalds is one of the few places we can streetpass.

Tried to update two times but received update error code...2nd time updating worked...reset system...turned it back on...resulted in backlit screen and music, but no picture. Help. Never dropped, always in nerf case. Very sad.
Okay so, I thought this was the best place to ask this.
Long story short, my old 3DS XL ******* the bed about a week ago, luckily I had warranty. Got an exact replacement, no biggie. Now, knowing my old system's serial number, I called up Nintendo to get my ID switched over to the new system, I have a lot of downloaded titles (My 3DS busted the day after I downloaded smash, just my luck). So we go through about a fifteen minute process, they asked a bunch of questions to make sure it was my ID and eventually they told me it was all set. I was informed that it would take 3 to 5 business days to transfer and I would receive an email from Nintendo about said ID. Now, as I haven't received my email and my urges to play smash grow stronger, I'd like to know about other people's experience with this as well, as to my knowledge others have called them and transfered ID's this way as well. How does it go about happening? Thank you all in advance.
Hey everyone. Now, I'm sure those of you who are regulars here, such as One-Of-Three, Mario, and GlaciusX25 know that I only create a thread when it is necessary. I think this may be one of those times.
While playing Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS online yesterday, I discovered what appears to be a new glitch in the game which may have been caused by the newest Nintendo 3DS System Update. Before I go into more detail, while my copy of the game is a digital download from the Nintendo eShop, I know there is nothing wrong with my system, so even though I know it by heart, please, I don't need any repair information thrown my way.
So, anyways, here's the details. While playing in an online match, in either the For Fun or For Glory modes, if a player inputs the down taunt followed by the up taunt, this will basically cause the Control Pad to become virtually unresponsive/locked for the remainder of the battle. This seems to also happen if the up taunt is inturrpted. While in many cases the taunting isn't that big of a deal, I know there are players who use and change Kirby's Copy ability often during a match, or others who use Luigi's taunt kick as part of their battle style, both of which can cause drastic changes in a battle. Before the new Nintendo 3DS system update went live the other day, I could taunt all I wanted to during an online battle. Now, I can't. So what I would like to know is if anyone else out there is having this issue or if they can replicate this glitch on their copy of the game? Is your copy a physical game card or a digital download from the Nintendo eShop? For all I know, this could be just a one-off thing with my copy of the game. This glitch thing can only be performed during an online match, not in an offline mode or the online waiting room/stage. If some other members here can replicate this issue, then great, we've got a thread we can inform Nintendo about so that hopefully a new patch can be created, or at least the issue could be looked at. If not and it's just a minor weird issue with my system, then hey, no big deal, I don't really tend to use either Kirby or Luigi in my battles anyway.
Anyways, thanks for stopping and taking a look at this. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this quickly.
